Rainsford Street
Demolition of a single storey factory unit to the Courtyard of the Digital Hub, which involved temporary propping and underpinning to the front wall for retention. Demolition of floors and walls inside the site of the old pub Chief O Neills, on behalf of Bennett Construction. This involved temporary propping, temporary steel and an electric remote controlled Brock demolition machine.
IDAT
National Film School
As a subcontractor for McNamara Construction we conducted the demolition and groundwork’s on the site of the National Film School. Installation of trench sheets to the site before the bulk dig, and laid all drainage and services to the new build. Small demolition of two extensions and the removal of Asbestos tiling also took place.
Wellington Quay
Dublin
Working alongside P.J Hegarty to demolish a lift shaft and area of floor over four levels. Concrete upstand beams to the front and rear were removed by saw cutting. Temporary steel and propping was also installed. The Brock Demolition Machine was used with a muncher to reduce the impact of noise on the surrounding businesses

The project involved demolition of 3 No. mass filled concrete Butress walls supporting the adjoining structure. Installation of temporary steel to the building before starting demolition by hand from scaffolding. Sections of the buttress walls were cut by a speciality saw and lifted away by crane for disposal with some small machine work at the foundations.
York Street

Digging of a 20 metre basement, and support the secant pile walls with temporary steel wallers, adding up to 55 ton. We broke out and removed 9 metres deep of rock. We also installed the drainage to the basement slab. On completion of the basement walls, 14 ton raking props were installed and the lower waller was removed.

Soft stripping of 4 blocks of apartments and one block of shops. Acting as PSCS for the job on behalf of D.C.C. 4 Storey buildings consisting of block and concrete.

Demolition, cart away, and digging foundations on Sean McDermott Street Dublin. Twin blocks of 5 storey flats where demolished and carted away from site in 8 weeks for McCabe Builders. Additional works included digging for foundations, backfilling with lean-mix, and temporary works and drainage to new retaining wall.

Demolition of a series of large warehouses including the careful removal of the 12m high asbestos roof using groups of MEWP’s, before shearing and recycling the structural steel. Dismantling of factory machinery including 25m high storage towers, industrial furnaces, conveyors, soft stripping, and subsequent demolition using a high reach excavator in conjunction with a team of support excavators and crushers to segregate and recycle materials. During demolition of the offices and minor buildings, the tank farm was drained and dismantled.
Frequently Asked Questions
- The building/s and surrounding area is soft stripped of timber & salvageable items.
- Where necessary, temporary shoring is designed, fabricated, and erected.
- Hand demolition is then normally carried out using a combination of men on the ground and small machinery to remove debris.
- For high buildings the upper levels would have to be demolished by hand using chutes running down to ground level.
